When people learn something new, they all want to be recognised, and badges can help them do that. Students (and adults!) seek recognition for their accomplishments, whether it's mastering a new skill, achieving a goal, or performing a nice deed. The word "badge" may conjure up thoughts of a Girl Scout sash with material  school badges  demonstrating skill at first glance. While the premise is identical, today's badges have considerably more implications than that simple image. Badges are credentials that indicate an individual's abilities, interests, and accomplishments as a result of certain initiatives, programmes, courses, or other activities. Most people wear their badges on the left (near their heart). That’s because most people (about 90 percent of us) are on the right, so it’s easy to put our guest badges on our left side.
